What Brachioplasty (Arm Lift) Involves

Brachioplasty, or arm lift, removes excess skin and fat from the upper arms and tightens the remaining tissue. It addresses the loose, sagging skin that diet and exercise can't fix — most often after major weight loss or with age.

Through an incision usually placed along the inner arm (positioned to be as discreet as possible), drooping skin is removed and the contour reshaped. Where there is also excess fat, liposuction may be combined for a smoother result.

It's done under general anaesthesia, typically as a day-care or short-stay procedure. You'll wear a compression garment and ease back into activity over a few weeks. The trade-off for a firmer arm is a scar, which we plan carefully and which fades over time.

Are You a Candidate?

Honest criteria — the same ones we'd use in the consultation room.

  • Loose, hanging upper-arm skin, often after major weight loss
  • Skin that no longer responds to exercise or toning
  • Stable weight and good general health
  • Acceptance of a scar in exchange for a firmer contour
  • Realistic expectations about the result

We'll be straight with you

If your concern is mainly a little fat with good skin tone, liposuction alone may be enough — we'll advise honestly and avoid unnecessary scarring.

The Process at Our Clinic

Five clear steps, from your first question to a year of follow-up.

Consultation

An unhurried first consultation with Dr. Gopal Singh himself — we block around 45 minutes. We listen to your goals, take your history, and give you an honest view of what's realistic. You speak with the surgeon, not a sales coordinator.

Assessment & plan

A focused examination with measurements and, where useful, clinical photos to confirm candidacy. You leave with a clear plan and a written quote for your procedure.

The procedure

Performed personally by Dr. Gopal Singh in a properly equipped clinical setup. Typical duration is around 2–3 hours, under general anaesthesia, in most cases as day-care.

Recovery

Clear aftercare instructions, medication and any garments you need. Most patients are looking at roughly 2–3 weeks before returning to normal routines, with activity reintroduced gradually.

Follow-up

Scheduled reviews so we can track healing and your result over time — included for a full year. We're reachable between visits if anything comes up.

Questions Patients Actually Ask

Straight answers — the same ones you'd get in the room.

Will brachioplasty leave a scar?
Yes — an arm lift involves a scar, usually along the inner arm where it's least visible. It's planned carefully and fades over time; for many patients the firmer contour is well worth it.
Who is it best for?
It's most often chosen after major weight loss, when loose skin remains that won't tighten with exercise. A stable weight gives the best, longest-lasting result.
What's the recovery like?
Expect about 2–3 weeks before returning to routine, wearing a compression garment and avoiding heavy lifting and strenuous arm activity for several weeks.
Can it be combined with liposuction?
Yes — where there's excess fat as well as loose skin, liposuction is often combined with the skin removal for a smoother contour.
Will Dr. Gopal Singh perform the surgery himself?
Yes. Dr. Gopal Singh performs every surgery personally. You will not be passed to a junior doctor on the day of your procedure.
Do you offer EMI or payment plans?
Yes. Flexible EMI and no-cost EMI options are available through partnered financial providers. Use the EMI calculator on this page for an estimate; exact terms depend on the procedure and are confirmed at your consultation.
I'm travelling from another city — can you help?
Yes, we see patients from across India. A video consultation can be arranged first, and we can guide you on accommodation and travel around your procedure dates.
Can I see before-and-after photos?
We don't publish patient photos publicly, to protect privacy. During your in-person consultation we'll show you cases relevant to yours so you can set realistic expectations.
